We've been owned and operated under the name Gold Mind for 20 years in Downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania. Over the last twenty years we have become a trusted source of high quality gold jewelry within the surrounding communities.
Unlike the Retail Franchise Corporations such as Kings and Kays, we sell and buy our Jewelry by the Gram, Quality, and Current Market Prices. Large Jewelry Franchises sell you jewelry by the Piece! Even though the Retail price of the Item is $1000.00, you're only getting $200.00 worth of actual precious metals and gems. When you buy and sell with Nothing-But-Gold.Com you get the costs of the actual precious metals and gems, in addition to business operating costs. For years we've watched the large franchise jewelry companies rip of the consumer in disbelief! Buying gold and selling gold to a Jeweller is the only way to get the Quality and Fairness you deserve!
Before you choose to sale your jewelry, you need to understand and know what to expect. Don't be fooled by these new "we buy gold" companies; they pay you in what's called "Penny Weight." Here at nothing-but-gold.com and the Gold Mind, we will explain and educate you on how to to scrap gold jewelry without getting ripped off!
Is the dealer operating legally? We've been in business for 20 years, and operate legally under the Michigan Precious Metal and Gem Dealer Act. We are registered with our police department in Sharon, Pennsylvania, keep permanent records of all transactions, in addition to keeping item's we've purchased for 10 days.
Do you understand the scales? To add to the confusion, some dealers will also use a system of weights called pennyweight (dwt) to measure a Troy ounce while others will use grams. A pennyweight is the equivalent of 1.555 grams. Jewellers still use the pennyweight in their calculations for the necessary amount of precious metals in casting items using the lost-wax casting process. It is the common weight used in the valuation of precious metals. Dentists and dental labs still use the pennyweight as the measure of precious metals in dental crowns and onlays. Consumers need to BE ALERT that a dealer DOES NOT weigh their gold by pennyweight, but pay them by the gram. This would allow the dealer to pay the seller less for more weight of gold!
Do you know your Karats! 1 karat equals 1/24 of pure gold by weight. So 14 karats would mean the jewelry was 14 part gold and 10 part other metals. Examples: If you were to have a 10Kt ( 41.66% Gold per Gram ) Gold Necklace that weighs 24 grams and melt the necklace down, only 10 grams of gold remain. *It is illegal for jewelry to be labeled “gold jewelry” if it is less than 10 karats.
